IQUIQUE, Chile -- Staff Sgt. Benny Trevino guides an F-16 Fighting Falcon pilot
after a Salitre 2004 sortie with Brazilian F-5s. Salitre 2004 is a multinational
air combat training exercise taking place through Oct. 8 here at Los Condores
Air Base. Air forces from Chile, Argentina and Brazil are joining more than 100
U.S. Airmen for the exercise. Participants are here to sharpen air-combat skills,
exchange air operations and tactics, and promote closer relationships among American
