SOUTHWEST ASIA -- (From right) Tech. Sgt. Rich Bobber surveys the damage on a
C-130 Hercules engine as Tech. Sgt. Clark Elwarner (kneeling) and Tech. Sgt. Paul
Okon pry off the engine panels to get a look inside. The Airmen are part of a
maintenance recovery team from the 386th Expeditionary Maintenance Squadron at
a forward-deployed location. They traveled to northern Iraq to repair the battle-damaged
C-130 after it was hit by enemy ground fire. Within 48 hours, the team had replaced
the engine and certified the aircraft as airworthy so it could be flown home.
