ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- The Sniper Advanced Targeting Pod made
its operational debut Jan. 7 on an F-15E Strike Eagle assigned to the 494th Fighter
Squadron here. At high altitudes, with the third-generation pod, the weapons system
officer is able to distinguish different pickup truck models on the ground. (U.S.
