CONTROLLED BURN PREPARATION AT LAKE WOODRUFF NWR, FLORIDA. Refuge personnel prepare for a controlled burn at Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge in Florida. The increasing complexities that impact fire management requires higher levels of technical expertise and qualification in both prescribed fire and suppression operations. Hazard reduction burning is conducted as a part of preparedness to reduce the amount of fuel that could contribute to catastrophic wildland fires.
