This image shows groups of captive nutria, an invasive rodent from South America. They are kept at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge on the eastern shore of Maryland. The nutria kept at the refuge are used to educate people about this invasive species. Humane studies are also done on the animals to better understand their life history.
