PRESCRIBED BURN AT LOWER KLAMATH NWR, OREGON. The increasing complexities that impact fire management requires higher levels of technical expertise and qualification in both prescribed fire and suppression operations. Refuges, like Lower Klamath National Wildlife Refuge use prescribed fire to achieve desired habitat conditions or to reduce the amount of fuel that could contribute to catastrophic wildland fires.
